About Amy Buck, CFP®, EA

Flat-Fee Fiduciary Financial Planner | Retirement & Tax Planning Specialist
Serving clients virtually across the U.S. | Based in Marquette, Michigan

Hi, I’m Amy Buck — a flat-fee financial planner and fiduciary advisor dedicated to helping individuals and families find their path to a confident, fulfilling retirement.

My Journey to Financial Planning

I began my professional life in education and account management, but I’ve always had a deep personal interest in investing and retirement planning. For a long time, I stayed away from the financial services industry because the only path I saw was focused on selling products—not giving real advice.

That changed when I discovered the growing movement of fee-only, fiduciary, financial planners, and I knew I’d found my calling.

Qualifications & Experience

Over the past six years, I’ve worked as the lead advisor for more than 250 clients, helping them create retirement strategies rooted in clarity and confidence.

I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and an IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) — which means I bring deep expertise in both comprehensive financial planning and tax planning.

What Makes My Firm Different

I started my own Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm to serve clients with honesty, transparency, and a true fiduciary commitment.

  • Flat-fee pricing: No commissions. No AUM percentage. Just a fixed annual fee.
  • Fiduciary standard: I’m legally and ethically obligated to put your interests first.
  • Holistic approach: I provide integrated retirement, tax, and financial planning services.

You’ll always know what you’re paying and why. There are no product sales or hidden incentives—just real advice, tailored to you.

Who I Work With

I work with clients virtually throughout the United States, and also support individuals and families here in Marquette, Michigan and the surrounding Upper Peninsula.

If you’re planning for retirement, facing a major life transition, or looking for clear guidance with taxes and investments, I’d love to help.

A CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™) holds one of the most rigorous certifications for financial planning. To earn the CFP marks, a financial planner must meet experience and educational requirements in financial planning, pass the CFP exam, and follow the strict ethical standard of the CFP Board.

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ are held to a fiduciary standard, meaning they are obligated to act in their client’s best interests. Learn more here.

An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by either passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual and business tax returns, or through experience as a former IRS employee. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.

Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before. Learn more about enrolled agents in Treasury Department Circular 230PDF.
